I bought this truck used with 33000 miles on it. It still has the original engine, transmission, air conditioning, back brakes (yes back brakes!) water pump, Original K & N air filter. I change the oil every 5000 miles sometimes I go well over 12000 miles without an oil change and that's the truth! coz' I thought this truck wouldn't last any longer but it still goes so I think it's time I baby this truck and change the oil more often. NO additives were added to this engine like synthetic engine treatments. Why do I have so many miles people ask? Coz' I used to work as a messenger driver for a shipping company. Update: My back brakes were finally replaced at 624517 miles. This truck is being maintained by my good friend and mechanic Tony at Glendora Auto. 676 E. San Bernardino Road, Covina CA 91723. 626-331-3100. You need an honest mechanic if you want your truck to last!!!

You just can’t beat a Toyota Truck…my 1995 Tacoma has 267,000 on it and it runs like new…have never changed the clutch, and the brakes only ONCE…I love this truck…everything else on it is original from when I bought it….I’ve only spent money on Oil Changes and tune ups…That’s it!!!…and yes, my truck was built in California
@TheManInDboX there are more million miles domestic trucks around then any toyota truck ..you want to talk about issue’s?…lets talk about the tailgates on toyotas folding up real easy and toyota claimed it was owner abuse..or how toyota has replaced frames on trucks that are not even 10 years old yet..isnt that a major repair?.i rather have a leaky rad hose then have to replace an entire frame ..and we all no the heavy abusive work is done by an american truck
@modestmoose83 since when did toyota become american???..and who owns toyota other then toyota its self???..if toyota is so american as they like to claim then why did they turn their backs on us when 9/11 happened?..funny..the real american brands did not do this..in fact it was only the big 3 who helped and donated to anything 9/11 related ..the only foreign auto maker to help right then and there was vw ..toyota will always be japanese
@modestmoose83 you mean the plant that toyota closed down??..toyota still imports some of its vehicles ..and toyota use’s mexican parts as well ..dodge being built in mexico does suck but they have standards to go by .never ask a women about cars they dont know any better .an american company can sell vehicles around the world still the profit comes home here..something toyota can not say
@wokeupthismorning100
itll never happen lol thats still really impressive no mater what it is
It’s hard to argue against Toyota being the most reliable truck on the market. Old Chevy’s can run for a while if you take care of them but on average Yota’s will beat anything American by at least 100k.
I have a 1989 Toyota Pickup with 400,000 km on it…..working perfectly!
What truck? I saw no truck in the video.
I have a 1995 Tacoma, 3.4l v6. It does not use any oil. The motor is excellent. I have changed the tires. I changed the water pump because the shop said to when I changed timing belt, spark plugs, etc. I have not changed the brakes. I changed trany fluid. Shop said filings in pan and rebuild. I did not. Changed battery. Spot painted scratches. No rust. It will last forever, but is not as comfortable as newer vehicle. I will trade it when my son finishes college.
@modestmoose83 because that is just way to many miles to be believable. unless this thing is a standard where all he has to do is down shift to slow down and not really rely on his brakes…but even then i would still only see it as plausible. and i also dont see how the drums would last 600k without rotting through
@joe72907290 It’s funny, my 2002 Tacoma was made in the Toyota factory in California… My Boss has a big Dodge truck, you know where that’s made? M-E-X-I-C-O. The secretary of my office has a 2008 Chevy Aveo, I asked her why she bought it and she said “because I like American cars… I felt bad telling her that her CHEVY was made in KOREA. My uncle had a 1998 Suburban, major engine failure @ 57K miles… Made in MEXICO! Toyota may have started in Japan, but it’s an American owned co. now.
@desr2395 If 99.99% of his miles were highway miles, I don’t see why 600K on the stock brake pads would be so hard to believe.
@MrIloveprettyboys Nope, i am still on my original plugs and wires, i have electronic ignition, with nothing to replace, and the iridium plugs are not shot yet.. I pulled them about 2 weeks ago to check after an oil change. I have replaced the right rear tail light bulb once.. and a head light bulbs twice, but i have those stupid daytime running lights. Tires yes, i am on my 3rd set of BF Goodwrich TA’s, Second battery, front brakes i have done once, my rears are original. Original Alignment to.
TIME FOR A NEW CAR BRO
@TheManInDboX Tires,breaks,spark plugs,bulbs,batteries. Bullshit on not replacing anything.
@MrIloveprettyboys What are things you replace on every car? I have not replaced anything on my Toyota which now has over 200K miles. The Old Toyota’s were plagued with major Rust issues due to the steel they used, US Steel without ionization was much thicker then the steel that Japan had, this is why you see next to NO pre 1985 toyota’s around. As for the OLD US Vehicles, they were built in a way that was easy to Fix, so i have no argument for there reliability, since a kid could fix them.
