  4. @smokermoved the answer to your questioin is simple. the domestics sold MILLIONS more trucks here than the imports did. in the 80′s yes the domestics were shit, no doubt. but this isn’t the 80′s anymore. and i will once again agree with mlstorm, the tundras arent selling that well at all, not even close to the sales of the F150 or the silverado. when you see a toyota commericla come on and there giving $5000+ off the msrp on a tundra, thats not because there selling them like hotcakes

    hotrodkid7August 9, 2010 @ 10:19 pm
  5. @MPLSTORM one truck has lasted me over the years and still continues to last with no repairs to speak of except oil changes, new tires, and a new battery. my truck has been really worked hard over the past 8 years and not a single bit of trouble. Im actually in the middle of towing my 5000lb boat back to ohio from the florida keys. after towing with my truck all day today i can really say that ford knows what they’re doing when it comes to trucks.

    hotrodkid7August 9, 2010 @ 10:26 pm
  6. shit both Ford and Toyota suck ass, but Toyota sucks more ass lol. I mean just look at this commercial, absolutely stupid.

    MPLSTORMAugust 9, 2010 @ 10:44 pm
  7. Your wrong the Tundra isn’t selling at all, I know a Toyota dealer and his Tundras are sitting on the lot waiting.

    MPLSTORMAugust 9, 2010 @ 11:17 pm
  8. I own all three, Dodge trucks over the years have proved themselves to be most reliable out of all the trucks I own.

    MPLSTORMAugust 10, 2010 @ 12:12 am
  9. @hotrodkid7 so how come there are more domestic trucks in the junkyard then? every junkyard is full of domestic cars and a few of imports? Not even the new F-150 is selling as hard as the Tundra now days open your eyes and look around it is defently changing it all in the truck market. I am talking about half-ton trucks not heavy duty.

    smokermovedAugust 10, 2010 @ 12:56 am
  10. @MPLSTORM not from what i have seen, you state all these irrational opinions based on nothing. i will agree with you that toyota is the most over-rated trucks out there, but then you just randomly state “dodge trucks are king”

    hotrodkid7August 10, 2010 @ 1:43 am
  11. No I can back it up indeed

    MPLSTORMAugust 10, 2010 @ 2:38 am
  12. @smokermoved you wouldnt be taking that F-150 to the junkyard for years and years and years there man. and how many farmers do you know that drive tundras?

    hotrodkid7August 10, 2010 @ 3:38 am
  13. @MPLSTORM you talk all this shit that you cant back up hahah

    hotrodkid7August 10, 2010 @ 4:34 am
  14. @MPLSTORM no, not really. I wouldnt say that about a truck with the least amount of towing capabilities, and a tranny that will go out in 14 days with no help from your dealer.

    MotorfordtoyotaAugust 10, 2010 @ 4:49 am
  15. was this an actual demo?

    chinchillawranglerAugust 10, 2010 @ 5:13 am
  16. Dodge trucks are king

    MPLSTORMAugust 10, 2010 @ 5:58 am
  17. Too bad Toyota trucks suck ass and have shitty frames, the most overratted truck out there

    MPLSTORMAugust 10, 2010 @ 6:30 am
  18. @Motorfordtoyota you can do all the homework you want I work at the Fort Wayne assembly plant FORT WAYNE INDIANA building Sierras and Silverados everyday and there are many other plants as well just watch the VIN# and where it was assembled, and how are Toyotas better for the Economy? by taking useful American revenue and sending it to Japan…?

    ZinizzleAugust 10, 2010 @ 6:40 am
  19. @southernboy1381 WRONG! I dont see any Lincoln trucks or Escalade trucks in the farms. Why not? Well look at the price of a regular F-150.. Of course I buy F-150 before I buy the Tundra to save money in my pocket and when I am done with the POS I send it to the junkyard because it is worthless after words. In mean time for having the comfort and the reliability I enjoy the Tundra for towing my boat, trailer, or even a project car. I would take the Tundra to the farm any day just to fuck around..

    smokermovedAugust 10, 2010 @ 7:29 am
  20. @Zinizzle Well, speaking of the fact that Toyota hires the people that GM, Chrysler, and FORD throw away or fire, Toyota is better for the Economy. and yes, I did my hw, Chevy and GMC trucks are built in oshowa Canada.

    MotorfordtoyotaAugust 10, 2010 @ 7:37 am
  21. @smokermoved but you do know why Toyota has lost quality? it cause they are built in America now.

    MotorfordtoyotaAugust 10, 2010 @ 8:08 am
  22. @Motorfordtoyota umm what the hell are you talking about Chevy Silverados are made in Indiana and Fords F150 is made in Dearborn MI AND PEOPLE SAYING TOYOTAS ARE MADE IN AMERICA NEEDS TO GET THE FACTS maybe they’re made in america but where does that 30k profit go??? JAPAN where the company originates from and chevy and ford have been making pick ups wayyy longer then toyota.

    ZinizzleAugust 10, 2010 @ 8:58 am
  23. All the trucks I see on farms are American made and the reason why is because a Japanese truck can’t do what an American truck does

    southernboy1381August 10, 2010 @ 9:37 am
  24. GM dodge and ford wouldnt need to doo that if pussy jap bitches werent buying pussy trucks and they had to spray the truck with water after good thing it didnt fly off the side because it kept “moving forward” ha fags

    Impack4August 10, 2010 @ 10:16 am
  25. @ciaschi18 Lets see, the Tundra is over 80% American, The Silverado is built and made in Canada (not American) The F150 is only part American, the Ram is part American, and the Nissan shouldnt even be made. Toyota just makes better stuff that is more American then the Domestics.

    MotorfordtoyotaAugust 10, 2010 @ 10:49 am
  26. @blawilliams search up the half ton truck shoot out. The dodge is 4th out of all… it’s always the 4th… Dodge has bad reliability, Chevys are great trucks though…. Ford is a good truck too but it is over rated… a lot of people on the ford forums are too scared to tow over 8k…

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 10:57 am
  27. @geoBM818 actually no your wrong. In the half ton, the ford and chevy r the slowest(except for the chevy 6.2). Tundra and Ram compete to be the fastest half ton, which is their marketing thing, where ford and chevy market a comfortable, dependable work truck. And from what ive read and test ive seen, the tundra, and titan have the weakest frames, then the dodge, while ford and chevy used fully boxed, much heavier duty frames. They have to due to the towing capacity

    blawilliamsAugust 10, 2010 @ 11:06 am
  28. @blawilliams the dodge is still slower than Ford and Chevy too man,,, The tundra has a C channel 3 piece frame that is very strong… just different design… Every truck has strong frames….

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 11:19 am
  29. @geoBM818 why would u say the tundra was built as a 3/4? The only thing heavy duty on that truck is a 4.3 rear end, and the only reason they did that was to outrun the dodge, but other than that, the tranny is not better than any other, the frame is weaker than ford and chevy half tons.

    blawilliamsAugust 10, 2010 @ 12:11 pm
  30. You can tell how light the pickup is because of how far it flies after impact!

    TheSeaPeopleandMeAugust 10, 2010 @ 12:35 pm
  31. @geoBM818, what do you think i am reading? i have a 2 friends that have tundras, thats how i know they are not great quality. im not reading anything BRO.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 12:59 pm
  32. @123abcpa
The frames that rusted were unfortunately contracted to a us company in CA i believe…. And the steel quality wasn’t poor, it was the way it was painted…. they used crappy paint and it resulted in rusty frames…. but toyota is replacing them. I have had 3 tundras and none have had any rust on frames, but thats because im on the west coast… and one of the trucks i bought was used and it was by the beach most of it’s life…. no problems.

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 1:10 pm
  33. @123abcpa all trucks are good… all have flaws too…. the tundra’s drivetrain is superior imo, but others have better qualities too.

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 2:09 pm
  34. @123abcpa again dont believe what you read bro…

    autoguide.(com)/auto-news/2010/07/breaking-toyota-unintended-acceleration-is-b-s-according-to-nhtsa-and-d-o-t-driver-error-blamed.html

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 2:54 pm
  35. @geoBM818, firestone and cts are different co. but what about the rusty frame recalls toyotas have been haveing becaust of poor steel quality, are the toyota frames outsourced too? because i know the other co. which have much thicker frame rails and welds dont have that problem and they make there own.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 3:01 pm
  36. @geoBM818, i have driven them all, tundra, titan, f-150, ram(3500), gmc sierra 1500. the only on i havent driven is the new ram 1500 only 3500.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 3:12 pm
  37. @geoBM818, my family has had both ford and dodge 1 ton trucks (same frame as 3/4) and i have never had them sustain body damage from bed bounce like my friends tundra. the newer dodge frames are boxed and it is a 6.7l diesel that has large trailers behind it regularly and wev never had a problem. though i like the superduty better because its better quality than the dodge. I hate to say this but i would take a ram 1500 over a tundra anyday. and those recalls toyotas haveing are scary as hell.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 3:27 pm
  38. @123abcpa
Stop believing all what you see on the videos… drive them all yourself than you can put out a better opinion. :)

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 4:18 pm
  39. @123abcpa

the tundra’s bed hops because the suspension is stiffer… frame is flexible yes, but it’s really strong and has 3 sections to it… The truck is built as a 3/4 but sold as a 1/2 ton and uses 5 lugs and a few other components to keep it a 1/2 ton truck. Almost all diesel half tons have C-Channel Frames… but some are built fully boxed now too… Each frame has it’s purpose and none are really better than the other… Put an F-250 or Ram 2500 on that track…. results are the same.

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 5:15 pm
  40. @123abcpa even if their not, ford decided to Install those tires…. just like toyota to CTS Pedals ;-)

    geoBM818August 10, 2010 @ 5:31 pm
  41. @geoBM818, thank firestone, those tires where not ford brand. in fact im sure ford does not even make tires.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 6:03 pm
  42. @phattacorider, the frame on the tundra is not weak because its c style it because its paper thin. the bed will hit the cab if you hit a big enough bump and then you get a body shop bill. watch the silver lake proving grounds video of 1/2 ton trucks and you will see why the toyota is weaker than any other 1/2 ton on the market by far.

    123abcpaAugust 10, 2010 @ 6:48 pm
  43. Most non-relyable shit ever

    mrAznpowerFaNAugust 10, 2010 @ 7:37 pm
  44. @phattacorider
yeah it would however materials do have something to do with the tundras frame. yes if the c channel had the same materials as a fully boxed frame it would be stronger however on this truck the materials that they use do not make the frame stronger than the competition. so you are right it is the same design however because toyota does not use high strength material in their frame the frame is weaker than the competition

    atgskater14August 10, 2010 @ 8:21 pm
  45. @atgskater14

I wasn’t talking about the material, I was talking about design. Strength isn’t just in material, but design as well. With that in mind, semi tractor trucks and the Tundra have similar frame design, which is an open “C” channel. Per weight, the “C” channel frame can support much more weight than a boxed frame before breaking. Again, I’m not talking about materials, I’m talking about design.

  46. Impressive!

    LEHMAPOISSAugust 10, 2010 @ 9:14 pm
  47. i just saw some american trucks safety tests and tundra no doubt is the best.

    faziljavedAugust 10, 2010 @ 10:01 pm
  48. @phattacorider
no actually its not semis use high strength steel as well toyota dosent. ford and chevy both have higher tow ratings than the tundra both use fully boxed frames with high strength steel. toyota obviously uses something weaker.

    atgskater14August 10, 2010 @ 10:11 pm
  49. what is that? 5mph Impact.

    jasminejerAugust 10, 2010 @ 10:35 pm
  50. @geoBM818 proven to be america’s saftey regualtion that is why tire are suppose to be disposed of if they are older then 6 years old
