Just me doing an oil change on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It is a little guide to help those who want to do an oil change for themselves. This is only for the 2.7L engines, it is done differently for the 4.0L.

i would reccomend using the new oil to lube the filter and pour alittle into the filter to lube it up before putting it on…
The V6 Tacoma has the oil filter up top,stupid easy to change oil on.

this guy is dangerous. he provides wrong information which at least could cause an oil leak, and at worst could ruin your engine. he tells tou to tighten you filter one quarter turn, not three quarter like toyota tells you. he also tells you that he uses 4.5 quarts of oil. where does he get 4.5 quarts. if this is the 2.7 liter motor it takes a little more than 6 quarts. then he puts hi used oil on the passenger floor board. kind of stupid if you ask me.
@SxEshawn Sorry for the late response. You will probably need to buy an oil filter wrench to take it off. If anything, you can ask for more help on tacomaworld, post pictures there.
Yeah you were right on exactly with the 14 mm.. But the oil filter is fucked up and I can’t drive my truck now. How do I take it out
dude way bigger problem now… please respond asap… I cant take the oil filter out of my truck… its stuck.. I hammered a screwdriver through it twice, hammered the top of it, and bought an oil filter wrench but it’s still stuck.
@SxEshawn The bolt for the oil pan? Are you using the correct size? I believe it is a 14mm.
i have the 07, why wont the bolt come off?
