SAN PEDRO — Last Saturday morning at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy’s Native Plant Nursery in San Pedro, surrounded by row upon row of seedlings and plants, Michael Rouse, vice president of philanthropy and community affairs for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., handed over the keys to a 2010 Toyota Tundra truck to PVPLC President Ken Swenson.

Fishing tourney relocates to Georgia due to spill
A regional bass fishing championship planned for the Mobile-Tensaw Delta is relocating to Bainbridge, Ga. Bud Ratliff, director of the Mobile Bay Sports Authority, says between 300 and 400 fishermen were projected to participate in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Regional Championship, creating an economic impact of about .5 million during the Oct. 15-16 weekend.

VanDam wins Angler of the Year
MONTGOMERY — At this point, the only thing hotter than Kevin VanDam is Alabama in late July. The Kalamazoo, Mich., veteran closed in typical fashion on the Alabama River Saturday, scoring his sixth and third consecutive Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year title.
